Boat-based whale watching trips are the ultimate eco-marine experience. With operators dotted along the South African coastline they depart daily on an exhilarating trip to view Southern Right whales (June to December), Cape fur seals, marine birds and possibly dolphins, Bryde’s whales and Humpback whales.
Operators are licensed to approach the whales up to 50 metres, they then stop the boat and the decision is left up to the whales whether they would like to approach the boat. As they are curious creatures, they usually come right up to the vessel and you will be able to have an unforgettable encounter with these gentle giants of the ocean.
